Prig Gang Koh Yao Noi
Yes it's a mouthful of a name, but what a great place to rock up to when in Koh Yao Noi
This little beauty of a spot is a great bet if you happen to be on Koh Yao Noi. Prig Gang Koh Yao Bistro by Chef Aon might not have a catchy name, but it sure does hit the spot when it comes to food, atmosphere and value.
Happy hour cocktails and a live band on Saturday nights help keep the place going strong. .
After 3 visits, they have been nice enough to organise a car to collect us from the pier which is normally about a 20 minute walk, you simply call ahead and ask them. A favorite of overnight charters to the Koh Yao Noi area, this restaurant seems to be one of the only ones open and always has people dining there.
Good Food and Decent Value
The food has always been good on both occasions, one was with a large group of 8 people and they coped well with the orders. Good dishes include the prawn cakes and all the curry's - red, green and Penang. They don't tend to do as well with the garlic bread which was just strange to be honest, and spring rolls were very average.
It's a good spot to catch the sunset, and after this the live singer starts up on a Saturday night, so that makes the setting and experience all the more enjoyable. He's pretty good actually, and most of our table were singing along to some old favorites after a cocktail or two.
The Bottom Line
Good place on Koh Yao Noi for dinner with a view, especially on the weekend. Food is well priced, and the happy hour cocktails are cheap.
