Jack Frost In Phuket

Well, it is rather cold at the Ice Arena so you best dig out those winter woolies!

Step Out of the Heat

Ice Arena Phuket positions itself as offering the ultimate ice skating experience for all the family, so let's take a closer look shall we?

Situated in Boat Lagoon, right beside Villa Market, just follow the signs and you can't miss the huge name above the entrance. We stepped inside and were told that they are currently not sticking to the scheduled start times, so you can go any time from 9am and get going.

Prices are shown below, we paid 300 bht each as we needed skate hire too, and of course 150 bht to rent the penguin. We got our skates and helmet sorted, and layered on our jumpers before heading for the ice.

An Hour On Ice

We went on a weekday around 11am and were lucky to have the place to ourselves. When we have been previously at the weekend there were a few more people but still you have enough space to scoot around. Whilst things are so quiet in Phuket, it's a good opportunity to get practicing on the ice.

You get an allocated hour, but after around 45 minutes we were done and had worked up an appetite. In future I might do the day pass so we can go in the morning, stop for lunch in Boat Lagoon, then come back again in the afternoon, all for 500 bht.

The Bottom Line

A fun family friendly way to spend an hour and feel the chill which we sometimes miss out in the tropics

+ Fun for kids and adults / Nice to get your winter clothes out! / Good exercise / Nice and quiet to practice (and fall over)

- It adds up with the skate hire and penguin, so all day pass might be a better option next time
